Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which were free of recognized hazards in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by a falling load or crane framework collapse: a. Truck 6a - The truck mounted crane used for tasks such as but not limited to lifting precast concrete products was not rerated after repairs to critical components, critical parts that were cracked and corroded were not repaired as required, and did not have the proper inspections performed on it. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to operate and maintain cranes and associated equipment in accordance with American National Standards Institute guidelines such as, but not limited to: ANSI/ASME B30.5-1989 ASME/AWS D14.3 SCOTT CONCRETE PRODUCTS, INC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD SECTION 5(a)(1) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 17900960, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1, ISSUED ON 09/06/91. b.
