The alleged violations below have been grouped because they involve %% similar or related hazards that may increase the potential for injury resulting from an accident. Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: (a) Zeiser Vault Company, center of shop: Four wooden 2" x 10" planks being used as a platform above the concrete mixer are not secured, exposing employees who may stand on them to a fall of approximately 12 feet if the planks should shift, March 5, 1991. AMONG OTHER MEHTODS, ONE FEASIBLE ANC ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: ----cleats can be installed on the underside of the planks to keep them from shifting.
