Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a recognized hazard of electrical shock or burns: (a)M/V Pacific Producer: Two electrical cabinets containing breakers, located in the forepeak (220-volt) and the process deck (480 volt), were left open to employee access where live electrical conductors had not been protected form employee contact by covering the exposed live conductors. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to install the covers over the conductors.
