Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck by collapsing trusses and/or falls of approximately 21 feet from collapsing wood roof trusses. (a) Roof trusses being installed from the north gable end of the home under construction at 1458 Turnberry Drive, Venice, Florida, on or about 7/15/93, were not adequately braced to prevent the trusses from collapsing laterally. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to handle, lift, erect, and brace the metal plate connected wood trusses in accordance with the recommendations of the truss plate institutes BWT76 (Greensheet) for bracing wood trusses, which is provided with the trusses on delivery and recommended by the truss designer and/or the truss manufacturer, and the standard building

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by falling or swinging suspended wood trusses. (a) Roof trusses being installed from the north gable end of the home under construction at 1458 Turnberry Drive, Venice, Florida, on or abut 7/15/93, had a span of 46 feet and the roof trusses were being lifted and set with single point hooks at the peak of the trusses and taglines were not utilized. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to handle, lift, and erect the metal plate connected wood trusses in accordance with the recommendations of the truss plate institutes BWT-76 (Greensheet) for bracing wood trusses, which is provided with the trusses on delivery and recommended by the truss designer and/or the truss manufacturer, and the standard building
