Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazard of being struck by a moving vehicle or equipment: (a)Jobsite at 5665 N Rogers I Wilson Memorial Road, Columbia, Missouri Malrose Bobcat, Model 743-B, Serial #509318098, was checked and found it was not provided with a horn or a reverse signal alarm. While ultimate responsibility for correcting the hazard rests with the employer, given his or her superior knowledge of the workplace, feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard, among others, are: 1.Install the horn or reverse signal alarm. 2.Implement a program for inspection of the horn or alarm. 3.Provide employee training as to the proper use and maintenance of the equipment.
