Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard from an elevated work platform: 29 SOUTH MAIN STREET, WEST HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT: ON OR ABOUT 11/17/95, AN EMPLOYEE WAS IN THE PLATFORM OF AN AERO-GO SkyKING/SKYJACK ELEVATING WORK PLATFORM (MODEL SJP-30AC, SERIAL NUMBER 1AP00155). THE PLATFORM WAS IN THE RAISED POSITION. TWO OF THE FOUR OUTRIGGERS HAD BEEN REMOVED. THE PLATFORM WAS BEING MOVED INTO POSITION. AMONG OOTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THE HAZARD IS TO COMPLY WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S OPERATING MANUAL: A.DO NOT REMOVE OUTRIGGERS WHILE AN EMPLOYEE IS IN THE PLATFORM OR WHEN THE PLATFORM IS IN A RAISED POSITION. B.DO NOT MOVE THE PLATFORM WHILE AN EMPLOYEE IS IN THE PLATFORM OR WHEN THE PLATFORM IS IN A RAISED POSITION. C.ENSURE THAT ALL OUTRIGGERS ARE ADJUSTED TO MAKE THE PLATFORM LEVEL BEFORE USING IT.NG
