General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to point of operation hazards: a) Press Area - The BALDWIN 200 ton press did not incorporate an anti-repeat feature into the two-hand control system. When the two-hand controls were held in the operating or depressed position the press cycled continuously. The controls, also, were not designed to require release of all operator's hand controls before an interrupted stroke could resume. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install anti-repeat feature.
