Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Storage area - the manner to load and unloaded wagons is inoperable, the
employees used pallet
jacks to move loads approximately 2,700 pounds inside of wagons, causing
back injuries.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
condition is the
installation and/or the construction of a ramp in which the lift trucks
can go in with the loads
to the wagons.
Hazard: Head, neck and back injuries.
El modo de cargar y descargar los furgones es inoperante, los empleados
usan paletas tipo
plataforma para mover cargas de aproximadamente 2,700 libras dentro del
furgon lo que ha
causado lesiones en la espalda.
Entre otros metodos un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir la
condicion es la instalacion
y/o la construccion de una rampa en la cual el autoelevador pueda entrar
con la carga al furgon.
Riesgo: Lesiones en la cabeza, cuello y espalda.
