Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Jose M. Massaris School - excrement from pigeons that nested on the roof
and window
molding projection of the school affected the health of the employees. The
excrement
entered to the classroom by the windows when these were opened.
Among other method, feasible and aceptable abatement methods to correct
this
hazard
are:
- Placement in the windows and doors screens to prevent the entrance of
the pigeon.
- Cleaning and maintenace to affected areas
- Use repelents or any devices to scare away the pigeons
Hazard: Allergies and respiratory and skin affections
Escuela Jose M. massaris - excremento de paloma que anidaban en aleros de
techo y de
las moldaduras de ventanas de la escuela afectando la salud de los
empleados. El
excremento entraba por las ventanas cuando estas se abrian.
Entre otros metodos, metodos de correccion aceptables y accesibles para
corregir este
riesgo son:
- Colocar en las ventanas y puertas rejillas para prevenir la entrada de
las palomas
- Limpieza y mantenimiento de las areas afectadas
- Usar repelentes o cualquier otro aditamento para ahuyentar las palomas.
Riesgo: Alergias y afecciones respiratorias y de la piel.
