Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Employees are exposed to being struck by the hoisting mechanism in the Poly Assembly Area. The modified hoisting mechanism had not been checked by a qualified engineer. Load test reports of the hoisting system were not placed on file and were not readily available. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard include, but are not limited to the following: a) Have a qualified engineer re-rate the hoisting system and support structures after the modifications have been completed in accordance with American National Standard (ANSI) B30.11 -1973. b)Place test reports on file where they are available to appointed personnel in accordance with ANSI B30.11 - 1973. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.ion
