On or about 11/30/97 and 01/30/97, the Horizonal/vertical Band Saw, Mfg-
Central Machinery, Model T063; serial # 10080, was not equipped with a
magnetic motor start, exposing employees to the hazards created by a saw
automatically starting upon restoration of power after a power
interruption.

Install new magnetic motor start safety switches on all saws or repair the
ones that came as original equipment on the meat cutting saws.

pallet to  8 feet
above the ground using the forks of a forktruck without fall protection.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct
this hazard
are:
1. Provide an extension ladder for the employee's use.
2. Provide a secured platform and proper fall protection for the employees.
