29 CFR 1910.176(c): Storage areas were not kept free from accumulation of materials that constituted hazards from tripping, fire, explosion or pest harborage: Employees working in the warehouse at 1801 Irving Blvd. Dallas, Texas, on or about February 29, 2000, were exposed to a recognized hazard by the placement of cardboard boxes a combustible material near an ignition source, a ceiling mounted gas/flame heating system. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means of abatement to correct this hazard include but not limited to: Knowledgeable assessment of the compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 90B (Table 3-1.3.1)which specifies a clearance of 18 inches between combustible materials and heat exchangers.
