1.Mark the rated load/capacity on the hoist.
2.Follow the requirements of American National Standard for Overhead
Hoists (ASME/ANSI B30.16 - 1987), Section 16-1.1.
b)Foundry, E-Melt Area, on or about 03/05/99; One Robbins & Meyers model
D3-3-17 hoist (charger crane), the pendant control controller's functions
were
not labeled as to indicate the direction of resultant motion.
ABATEMENT NOTES:
1.Mark each control actuator to indicate the direction of resultant
motion.
2.Follow the requirements of American National Standard for Overhead
Hoists (ASME/ANSI B30.16 - 1987), Section 16-1.2.

MOVING BELT:
a)Foundry Area, on or about 03/05/99; Prepared Sand Conveyor troughing
idlers:  No stop cords/guards were present to prevent accidental employee
contact with inrunning nip points created by conveyor belt & idlers.
Employee walks along entire length of conveyor belt when it is running to
obtain sand samples for testing.
ABATEMENT NOTES:
1.Provide guards/stop cords along length of conveyor to prevent
accidental employee contact with inrunning nip points.
2.Follow the requirements of American National Standard for
Conveyors & Related Equipment (ANSI B20.1 - 1976), Section
5.11.2.3.
b)Foundry Area, on or about 03/05/99; The conveyor systems for the Foundry
Sand & Waste Sand were not provided with warning devices to alert
employees in the areas that these conveyor systems were about to "start
up".
ABATEMENT NOTES:
1.Provide an audible warning device which can be clearly heard at all
points along the conveyor.
2.Follow the requirements of American National Standard for
Conveyors & Related Equipment (ANSI B20.1 - 1976), Section
5.11.2.2 (Foundry Sand System) & ANSI B20.1 - 1993, Section
5.11.2(b)(1) (Waste Sand System)
