Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: multiple injuries from a possible failure in the hydraulics of the scissor lift used to lift the "running gear" of a trailer van body on the production line. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to provide mechanical support, blocking, or other means to prevent the lift from falling in the event of hydraulic failure. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: serious injuries from a die block ejected from the bed of a mechanical power press(es) and/or press brake(s) throughout the facility. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to adequately train press operators in the use of die blocks and to electrically interlock the die blocks to prohibit initiation of a press stroke with the die block(s) in the press(es). ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
