a.Employees were using compressed air rated by mounted gauge on the
compressor
at 195psi had a piping system that was plumbed with PCV plastic piping. In
the last 6 months
the piping has ruptured throwing plastic projectiles in all directions
narrowly missing employees
working and using the compressed air.
One feasible means of correcting the problem is to install piping as
required under ASME Boiler
and Pressure vessel Code 1968.

a.Building 756 on the southeast end of the building,oxygen/acetylene
tanks, hoses
and regulators were found to have a build-up of grinding dust on and in
them, creating a serious
hazard for employees when they are needed for use.
One feasible means of correcting this problem is to follow NFPA #51-1969
standard for oxygen-
fuel gas systems for welding and cutting, section 336 which states: Each
service outlet on
portable outlet headers shall be provided with a valve assembly that
includes a detachable outlet
seal cap, chained or otherwise attached to the body of the valve.
