Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of the lift tipping over: a)Warehouse Area: Employees used the Heff-T-Herman 219SPEP Plant Master lift with malfunctioning automatic stabilizers and were exposed to the hazard of the lift tipping over, on or about 02/25/99. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to repair the automatic stabilizers on the lift so they function as described in the Heff-T-Herman Operating, Service, and Maintenance Manual, page 5 (6644, REV.2).
