Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that
employees were exposed
to the hazard of:
(a) of a potential explosion due to improper storage of incompatible
chemicals of an organic
peroxide (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide) and gel coat. These products were
observed on or
about 4-22-99 being stored adjacent to each other inside the chemical
storage room. Employees
exposed to the risk of chemical burns and/or smoke inhalation in that
separate storage areas had
not been established. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable
abatement method to
correct this is:
(1) Providing separate storage areas for the organic peroxide from other
chemicals in a cool
environment.

PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT 5(a)1 WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA
