accessing the manure
pits,via a ladder, in the egg and pullet farms. The ladder which was
constructed of wood had
uneven rungs & the distance from the last rung to the floor of the manure
pit was from 24 - 45
inches. The distance from the work area to the bottom of the manure pit
floor was about 9 feet.

were to accidently go out these doors. One feasible method of abatement
would be to mark those
doors which are not considered an exit as such.

an electrical shock
hazard due to their working on and around metal equipment which is
connected to its power
source by use of a flexible cord. The employees were also working in a wet
location. The use
of a flexible cord in lieu of fixed wiring is prohibited in the 29CFR
1910.305(a).
