Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fractures and contusions from slipping and falling hazards while working on an oil soaked form surface. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to minimize this hazard would be to limit employee exposure to the hazard and minimize the area of oiled surface. Location:17th floor of the North block building. The employees were exposed to slipping and falling hazards while working on a high density plywood form deck that was oil soaked.
