Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling from a moving trailer into the path of other traffic: a)Employees riding a flat bed trailer were sorting recyclable materials and were not protected from falling off the trailer while it was being towed at speeds up to 30 mph. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard would be to provide a positioning belt and secure anchorage for attachment.
