29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): The employer did not select and have each affected employee use, the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee(s) from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment:    NAF El Centro Airport Vraciu Field (Hot Side): On or about June 2, 2020 and times prior to, employees were using the Sherwin-Williams Company two-part paint mixture to paint valves on the fuel system without eye protection. The personal protective equipment hazard assessment for painting operations states: Safety glasses or face shields must be worn at any time work operations can cause foreign objects to get into the eye. Employees were exposed to splashes and/or eye irritant hazards when mixing and applying the paint.

29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(iii): The employer did not identify and evaluate the respiratory hazard(s) in the workplace; including a reasonable estimate of employee exposures to respiratory hazards and identification of the contaminant's chemical state and physical form:    NAF El Centro Airport Vraciu Field (Hot Side): On or about June 2, 2020 and times prior to, employees were performing mixing and painting on fuel system valves without an exposure determination to identify respiratory hazards associated with the following two-part paint ingredients:  a) Sherwin-Williams Company MIL-DTL-24441D/31B Paint, Epoxy-Polyamide, Type IV Formula 152 White  b) Sherwin-Williams Company MIL-DTL-24441D/29B Paint, Epoxy-Polyamide, Type IV (Hardener) Formula 150  Employees were exposed to inhalation hazards associated with paint solvents, which could result in central nervous system depression, dizziness, and/or respiratory irritation.
