Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a), Annotated Code of Maryland: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:09/26/00 Location:Second Floor, Salisbury Fire Department Headquarters Condition:A polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe was used to transport compressed air into the fire department trucks. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to replace the PVC pipe and fittings with steel pipe approved for this purpose.
