Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: At the bank branch - on August 7, 2001 there was applying roof treatment to correct leaking problems. On that date, the Ocupational Safety and Heath Office requested employer investigate the alleged condition and make any necessary corrections or modifications to protect employee's health. Despite the request, employer was not dilligent and on August 8, 2001 three employees were seriously affected of their respiratory systems according with medical records. Among others methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to do works which involve the use chemicals products out of working hours. Hazard: Exposure or overexposure to chemical substances. En la sucursal bancaria - el 7 de agosto de 2001 se estaba aplicando tratamiento al techo para corregir problemas de liqueos. En esa fecha, la Oficina de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo solicito al patrono investigue la alegada condicion y haga las correcciones o modificaciones necesarias para proteger la salud de los empleados. A pesar de la solicitud, el patrono no fue diligente y el 8 de agosto de 2001 tres empleados fueron seriamente afectados de su sistema respiratorio de acuerdo con los expedientes medicos. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable de corregir este riesgo es hacer trabajos los cuales involucren el uso de productos quimicos fuera de horas laborables. Hazard: Exposicion o sobreexposicion a substancias quimicas.as
