Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Third floor level at outside edge - 1st Street and Sinatra Drive, Hoboken, NJ; An iron worker was riding the end of a hoisted i-beam while attempting to land/connect it to a column top exposing him to the hazard of being thrown 35 feet down to the ground below. Violation observed on or about 4/26/01.
