bend
and form metal parts was not provided with safeguarding to protect
operators who place their hands 1/2-inches from the point-of-operation.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to
implement
an effective "Safe Distance" Safeguarding Program as described in ANSI
B11.3-1982,
Safety Requirements for Construction, Care and Use of Power Press Brakes.
Elements of the program include:  a)  Exposure prevention procedures; b)
Training;
c)  Retraining; d)  Supervision; e)  Periodic inspections.
Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
