General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: 1101 North Redmond Road, Jacksonville, AR: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of electrical shock and electrocution which was associated with employees working with or around electrostatic spray painting equipment without having a sufficient connection to ground. Among other means, two feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard are as follows: 1) Require all employees working in and around the spray booth to weather conductive shoes, such as shoes with leather soles. 2) Provide and require the use of grounding straps to maintain a connection to ground during spraying operations.
