Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Elk Grove Plant- Emergency stop pushbuttons were not located at each operator control station on the Bobst Domino gluer numbers 1 and 2; the Post gluer numbers 4,5, and 10; the International (straight line) gluer numbers 1,6,7,8,9 and 10; and the Jagenberg Dianna gluer number 115. (b) West Field Plant- Emergency stop pushbuttons were not located at each operator control station on the International (right angle) gluer number 7; the Post gluer numbers 1,2, and 3 and the Jagenberg gluer number 8. (c) West Field Plant- Emergency stop devices (cord type) were not continuously operable from operator control stations on the International (right angle) gluer number 9 and on the Jagenberg gluer number 4. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to include, but not be limited to the following: (1) Conform to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 79 section 13.2. Emergency Stop Devices. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
