Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were working in a self propelled extendible boom aerial lift and were not utilizing an appropriate fall arrest system. Industrial Drive jobsite - Employees working in extendable boom aerial lift approximately 23 feet above grade were exposed to fall hazards. A fall arrest system was not utilized. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.5 for Boom Supported Elevating Work Platforms, and 1) Require employees to wear fall protection every time they are in extendable boom aerial lifts. NO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM
