Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a)On or about July 23, 2003 at a jobsite located at 308 Bridge St., Burlington, WI., an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 25 feet while climbing over the top rail of a Genie Z-34/22 aerial lift. A feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A92.5-1992 Boom Supported Elevating Work Platforms, Section 8.10.1 which requires personnel to maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working therein. No certification required. Violation Abated.on
