Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) Steel Erection at Preston and Wade, Frisco,TX - On or about 1/13/2004, an employee was riding on a steel "I" beam that was being transported by a high lift industrial truck. The employee may be struck by the beam or the industrial truck. AMONG OTHER METHODS, RECOGNIZED AND FEASIBLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Full implementation of applicable elements in ASME B56.6-1992, Safety Standard for Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks, and also the safety elements in Sky Track owners/operators Manual. Both publications warn of the hazards of riding on or working under the forks. A tag line may be used to control loads.l
