Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall to lower level: a)Rear of old jail building: Employee was standing on the guard rails of the scissor lift work platform, on or about 1/25/2005. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: 1.Insure that employees stand with their feet firmly on the floor of the scissor lift work platform as described in American National Safety Standards for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms ANSI/SIA A92.6.IA
