Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:04/22/03 Location:Rooftop of House Condition:Roof trusses were braced using only a single 2" by 4" "spacer" board, approximately 24" in length, placed between trusses. Among others, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install bracing in accordance with the Truss Plate Institute's HIB-91 summary sheet, or follow the manufacturer's recommendations for bracing roof trusses. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
