88.4:  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment
which was free
from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm
to employees in that employees were exposed to:
(a)Facility Wide - The employer having employees exposed to hazardous
chemicals in the facility had no Material Safety Data Sheets available
when an
employee was severely burned with a liquid drain cleaner called "Liquid
Fire".
The employer had no procedures  to handle a spill or severe burn.  The
employee was left to try and wash themselves in a very small sink in a
break
room instead of using a large sink in the backroom.  Among other methods,
one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to
have
a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet near the chemicals and have
procedures on hand in the handling of an emergency. This condition was
noted
on July 17, 2003.
