recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to

were exposed to power tool "kickback" hazards by operating a saw without
maintaining a grip
on the side handle for control.
a- NJ National Golf Club clubhouse:  The contractor's employee was
patching a portion
of the brick wall at the front of the clubhouse, as part of a renovation
project.  A Bosch
Model# 1752G7 angle grinder, equipped with a metal blade, was used to cut
bricks to
size.  The method employed to cut the bricks did not ensure the tool was
gripped by its
side handle, as specified in the Operating/Safety Instructions, and
exposed the employee
to hazard of losing control of the tool.  Condition noted on or about
11/07/2003.
