were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to

were exposed to the hazard of contact with a moving saw blade:
a) In the machine shop the Do-All horizontal band saw with serial number
5215804 was not
equipped with a magnetic re-starter or similar device, as prescribed by
the American National
Standards for Metal Cutting Saws, ANSI B11.10-1990, Section 5.2.3.4, that
in the event of an
interruption in the electrical supply would prevent the saw from
restarting automatically when
power is restored.
b) In the machine shop the Enco vertical band saw with serial number
921396 was not equipped
with a magnetic re-starter or similar device, as prescribed by the
American National Standards
for Metal Cutting Saws, ANSI B11.10-1990, Section 5.2.3.4, that in the
event
of an interruption
in the electrical supply would prevent the saw from restarting
automatically when power is
restored.
A feasible means of abatement would be to provide a magnetic re-starter or
similar device as
required by ANSI B11-10.1990.
Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the
requirements of
29 CFR 1903.19(d).s
