General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Process Deck, Butcher Line, Port and Starboard Ryko Gutters: On or about July 15, 2009 and at times prior thereto, employees were required to perform manual scrubbing of the equipment which was not isolated from its 480 volt and 120 p.s.i.g. energy sources. This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards resulting in amputations. Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement would be to follow the written general and specific energy isolation (lockout/tagout) procedures the employer developed in 2008.oped
