Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in
that employees were
exposed to serious laceration hazards associated with tears, sharp edges,
and protruding
pieces of metal siding along farm walls:
a)Seaboard Farms, Inc. & 53022 CR 12 in Holyoke, CO 80734: The
employer did not protect employees from serious laceration hazards
associated
with tears, sharp edges, and protruding pieces of metal siding along the
farm
walls.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to perform the following:
Install the same, or similar, protective plastic "wall-board" material
that was
observed along the walls in Farm #56.

employees were exposed to serious eye injuries associated with operation
of the power-
washers:
a)Seaboard Farms, Inc. & 53022 CR 12 in Holyoke, CO 80734: Employees
were exposed to serious eye injuries associated with operating
power-washing
equipment without the use of eye protection.  The power-washers are used to
clean floors and mats by using a water gun with a pressure at the nozzle in
excess of 1600 psi.
Some feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard may
include, but are
not limited to, the following:
-Enforce the use of ANSI Z87.1 approved eye protection; and
-Use a combination of a screen face guard and full face shield.
