General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to overhead hoists: (a) Blumcraft of Pittsburgh, Building 2: On or about 11/8/04, the capacity markings for the overhead hoist were not visible. In addition, inspection reports were not documented. Among other methods a feasible method of abatement is to institute a preventative maintenance and inspection program per the manufactures specifications and to mark the hoist and rail with its capacity.
