Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling loads: (a) Facility, Melwood Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA: On or about June 17, 2009, there were no frequent (monthly) and periodic (yearly) hoist inspections being performed (with written documentation) on, but not limited to, the one ton hoists. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to conduct frequent and periodic inspections in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. 0 0 y 0 <
