North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Ref: ANSI/ALI B153.1-1990 American National Standard/Automotive Lift Institute para:7.1.2 and Operation Maintenance Manual for Rotary Lifts 200-400. a)hit by falling vehicle - while employees of the employer were utilizing SPOA7 and 9 hydraulic lifts manufactured by Rotary with a weight capacity of 7000 and 9000 pounds the employer did not conduct regular inspections of the lifts checking for things such as excessive oil leaks. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to establish a daily inspection program of the lifts that is documented, and any deficiency that could comprmise the safety of the lift be repaired immediately before the lift is used.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is display the operating instructions in a conspicuous location in the lift area.
