Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 5/9/05, an employee walking on the fabric vapor guard adjacent to the Chlorine contact chamber was exposed to a 18' fall hazard because the surface could not support his weight. One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to stop allowing employees to walk on the vapor guard. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
