Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 6/2/05, at the front of the building, employees were exposed to a fire/explosion hazard due to a missing gas cap on a fuel tank of a gas engine powered pump mounted on a tar kettle. One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to replace the missing cap with a new one. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
