Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Powder Coating area, for employees accessing, utilizing and traveling through the area beneath the trolley conveyor line where employees have potential exposure to struck- by hazards from hanging manufactured parts falling off the line. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be for the employer to effectively guard and prohibit the area beneath the conveyor line from being accessed by employees until the designed screen guard is installed.
