North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by a section of towing bridle of 3/4' to 1" wire rope due to improper splicing, (Ref page 27 and 28, ALP Industries book on wire rope): a)LCU Hatteras-a one inch (1") wire rope bridal with multiple usage such as towing, was not properly spliced or clipped to prevent slippage or breaking. (Ref page 27 and 28, ALP Industries book on wire rope): One feasible means of abatement is to have all wire rope bridles properly spliced and load tested.
