Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing or caught between hazards: (a) Location - Wood mill warehouse; shipping/receiving On or about February 1, 2005, employee(s) were exposed to serious injuries while servicing and maintaining dock plate systems without traffic control procedures and equipment to protect the employee(s) from struck-by and crushing hazards of shipping motor-vehicles. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to place barriers and signs to prevent unauthorized vehicle access to the dock area where work is being performed.
