bench. 3.) The configuration of the door machine did not allow the door machine operator an unobstructed view of the doorway where employees access the coke-side bench. An acceptable method of abatement of the hazardous condition would include the following: --Assess the condition and effectiveness of the existing signaling and warning devices on all mobile coke oven equipment. Make necessary repairs. -- Develop and implement an inspection and maintenance plan that specifically targets existing warning and signaling devices on all mobile coke oven equipment to insure that the devices are maintained in effective operating condition. -- Develop and implement a plan and/or procedure,including physical alterations as necessary, to the doorway and/or door machine which addresses the inability of employees to identify the location of the door machine prior to stepping onto the bench and addresses the obstructed view of the door machine operator as the machine passes the doorway used by employees to access the coke-side bench.ide
