Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious harm to employees. Employees were exposed to the hazards for falls while standing on the guardrails of a scissor lift. Employees working from scissors lifts during steel erection activities, did not maintain their position inside of the basket, but rather were standing on top of the guardrails. Corrected during the inspection. A feasible means of abatement would be to provide fall protection in accordance with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.6-1979 Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms.lled
