Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about 07/06/06, an employee in the Machine Shop was operating a forklift (Model number FG30HT-14, serial number 5858008A) and not wearing a seatbelt. Among other methods, one feasible abatement method to correct the hazard is to require the use of seatbelts as stated in ANSI B56.1-1993. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
