Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of being run over and / or struck-by forklifts: On or about 08/28/06, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling and being crushed / run over / struck-by motor vehicle equipment, while operating forklifts without wearing restraining devices such as, but not limited to seat belts. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to prohibit employees from operating this type of equipment without wearing seat belts. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
