a) Plant #1 Dormer Shop: The Arrestall dust collector was located inside
of the building
and was not equipped with a deflagration suppression system or proper
deflagration relief
venting. The unit was not equipped with spark detection necessary to
recycle exhaust air
back into the facility, as observed on or about January 14, 2008.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO
CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO RELOCATE THE DUST COLLECTOR
OUTDOORS.

b) Plant #1 Dormer Shop: A length of nonconductive PVC pipe was used to
connect a
radial arm saw to the dust collection system, as observed on or about
January 14, 2008.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO
CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO EQUIP THE DUCT WORK WITH A BARE
COPPER WIRE GROUNDED TO THE DUST COLLECTION SYSTEMS AND
REPLACE THE LENGTH OF PVC PIPE WITH PROPER DUCT WORK.
